W.H. Bradford strives to create and build "terrain specific weapons" made specifically from steel. As a builder I’ve tried to show my depth of capabilities over the years with many different style steel frames.
Our primary models are The Gazos gravel frame, B+Fun mountain and our AdventureCross bike packing / flat bar dirt machine. These are primarily frames intended for Gravel, Mountain and All road riding.

A Look Inside Santa Cruz’s Spokesman Bicycles Outpost and Their Wild Custom Builds
"...Wow. W H Bradford has had some crazy bikes featured here over the years yet I don’t think I’ve seen any this clever. That little Outer Shell pouch on the Ritchey Bullmoose houses the Di2 junction box..."
Builder Interview: W. H. Bradford
"We recently featured the Island Hopper bike from Sacramento builder Brad Hodges, who builds as W.H. Bradford. We sat down with Brad to learn more about his background, how he got started, and his process for building the works of art he puts out into the world."

2018 Grinduro: W.H. Bradford Mountain of Radness Fluoro Hardtail
"Without showing any favoritism, out of all the bikes at Grinduro, this bike made by W.H. Bradford Designs was one of the most unique and the only hardtail in the whole grouping..."
This Year’s Most Beautiful Handmade Bikes
"Brad Hodges, owner of WH Bradford Designs, built this bike as a tribute to the original Yeti Tribe. If you’re a rider of a certain age, this beast (which uses Boost axle spacing) will bring you back to the early days of mountain biking. The bits are an assortment of White Industries and Paul’s Components, and the frame is made from steel."
NAHBS Gallery: Best paint and finish work
"...The bike’s builder, Brad Hodges of W.H. Bradford, designed the paint scheme and cut out each geometric shape by hand. Hill Clarke of Washington, Georgia then painted the bike using the shapes and designs created by Hodges."
2017 NAHBS: W.H. Bradford Designs Yeti Homage
"W.H. Bradford brought one of the most fun bikes at this year’s NAHBS. This Yeti homage has every detail worked out, from the classic looptail, to the flat top tube and even the fork, there’s not much Brad left out. "
NAHBS 2017: Yeti Ultimate Tribute Bike by W.H. Bradford
"This “modern version” of the Yeti Ultimate was crafted by Brad Hodges of W.H. Bradford out of Sacramento, California. Its color scheme was definitely an eye-catcher—teal with purple accents and custom Paul componentry. This bike combines the old-school style of the Yeti Ultimate with updated geometry and modern standards, such as Boost spacing and plus tires."
NAHBS 2017: Beards, Beers & Bikes
"Brad Hodges of W.H.Bradford Designs came to the 2017 NAHBS Show with this stunning reinterpretation of the old Yeti Ultimate. Using a similar frame silhouette, a rigid fork and the classic turquoise paint job, this rig employs all of the modern standards to bring the design up to date."
2016 NAHBS: W.H. Bradford All-Road
"...With clearance for Bruce Gordon’s Rock N Road tires, this bike can go just about anywhere and when it’s time to stealth camp, it’ll blend right into the woods. Just don’t let that Profile Racing freehub spin or you’ll blow your cover."
The World’s 21 Most Beautiful Handmade Bikes
"The W.H. Bradford Dr. Klunkinstein is a steel-framed Frankenstein built for "fire-road shredding" with a swinger fork, a 27.5+ rear wheel, and a 29-inch front wheel. "
NAHBS 2016 – Bikes We Likes, part 1
"Dr. Klunkinstein was built for Ty Hataway (@tytantium on the Instagrams). The details are pretty amazing. Check out the rear coaster brake with a custom torque attached to the ISO disc mounts. The fork is almost to obvious to mention. The Moonmen Ti cruiser bars are the perfect finishing touch."
Road to NAHBS 2016: Brad Hodges with W. H. Bradford Custom Bikes
"...We can expect to see a full range of road, mountain, cyclocross, and touring machines at this year’s show. While he builds mostly in steel, rumor has it that a certain ‘Tytanium’ bike will ‘steel’ the show in the WH Bradford booth this year at NAHBS."
